Thank you for participating in New Paltz Recreation Soccer. When the registration period ends (March 1 for spring and August 1 for fall), team rosters will be created and a schedule will be made. We anticipate that the rosters and schedule will be completed by late March for spring and late August for fall.
For information regarding the upcoming season, please read the information below carefully:
When does the Fall season begin/end? Season runs Early September through early November for 8 weekends total.
When does the Spring season begin/end? Season runs mid-April through mid-June for 8 weekends total
Where are the games held? New Paltz Sports and Recreation Park (Field of Dreams) located on Libertyville Road behind the parking lot for the Ulster County Fairgrounds
When will practices be held? The volunteer coaches of each team in Divisions B-C will have weekly practices based. Future Stars and Division A1 and A2 play on Saturdays only with A1 and A2 having optional trainer nights.
When will games be scheduled? Games will always be scheduled on Saturday mornings. The time will vary. Team schedules can be found on the SportsEngine app or at www.newpaltzrecreationsoccer.org -->Team Pages-->Current Season
Can Kindergartners play? Yes- in Future Stars (or in Division A1 if they are much better than average players...please be sure it would be an appropriate fit for your child and contact the league).
What size ball does my child need?
Future Stars and Divisions A1 and A2 size 3.
Division B-C size 4.
Will my child receive a uniform? Yes- your child will receive a team shirt for the season. Late sign-ups are discouraged so all players get shirts (late shirt orders are generally not possible so register before the deadline)
What equipment does my child need? shin guards, socks to cover the shin guards, cleats or sneakers, water for all games and practices, and a ball.
Are teammate and coach requests accepted? Generally, no. In order to be able to create balanced teams (ability and gender), requests are not easily accepted. If siblings are in the same division, they can request to be placed on the same team. If transportation to and from games and practices is a factor, requests may be considered. Division A requests may be honored if possible.
Does the league provide scholarships to those in financial need? Yes. Please email newpaltzrecsoccer@gmail.com to request a scholarship.
How do I add another adult to the account? Please visit the "For Parents" section of our website. This can be done through the SportsEngine app. Go to the team roster, find your player name, click on player followed by pencil icon and click add guardian
When does registration open and close? Registration will open January 1 - March 1 for spring and June 1 - August 1 for fall.
Are late registrations accepted? Typically, no. Volunteer board members need a month to prepare for the season (create rosters, order uniforms and equipment, secure coaches and officials, create the schedule, etc.) Based upon enrollment on March 1 or August 1, the number of teams will be determined. At that time, if spots are available to balance teams, late registrations for select divisions will be accepted. Shirts may not be guaranteed for late registrations
When will I be assigned to a team and know my child's coach? We hope to have teams created by late March and mid August.
How will I know what team my child is assigned to and the schedule of games? You will receive an email when your child has been assigned to a team or you can look at the SportsEngine app. All the information is there or is available on the league site. Schedules are visible on the app
What if my player changes his/her mind. Is there a cancellation policy? Cancellations before the season begins can be considered and pro-rated depending on whether teams shirts have been ordered and season costs covered. Cancellations after the season begins will not be eligible for a refund.
